Pad Man 2018

Pad Man is a 2018 Indian biographical comedy-drama movie based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu. It follows his journey to find a cost-effective solution to provide sanitary pads to women in rural India, who can’t afford them. The story begins with Lakshmikant Chauhan (Akshay Kumar), a small-town entrepreneur from Madhya Pradesh, who is determined to invent a low-cost machine to create affordable sanitary pads for women. He receives a lot of pushback from his family and society, as it is considered “inappropriate” for men to be involved in such a taboo subject. Despite this, he continues to pursue his goal and eventually succeeds in creating a machine. He then embarks on a mission to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene and set up factories to produce low-cost sanitary pads across India. With support from his wife Gayatri (Radhika Apte) and his friend Pari (Sonam Kapoor), Lakshmikant manages to face all the obstacles and become a pad man.
