Tahkhana 1986

Tahkhana is a 1986 Indian horror film directed by Shyam Ramsay and Tulsi Ramsay. The story follows siblings Anil (Vinod Khanna) and Radha (Deepa Sahi) who come to their ancestral home, the Tahkhana. There they discover that it is haunted by a ghost, Manjulika (Smita Patil), who was an actress in the 1930s. Anil attempts to discover the truth behind her death while Radha tries to stop him from learning too much. Eventually, Anil learns that Manjulika's lover had killed her out of jealousy and buried her in the basement of the Tahkhana. In order to set her spirit free, Anil must perform a ritual to send her soul on its way. After completing the ritual, peace is restored to the Tahkhana and Anil and Radha can leave the place without fear.
