Lal Haveli 1944

Lal Haveli is a 1994 Indian Bollywood drama film directed by Kalpataru. The movie tells the story of two sisters, Sarita and Radha who live in a small village in India with their grandmother. Their father left them when they were young, leaving them to fend for themselves. They are comforted by their grandmother's stories of their father's bravery in the war and his hope for a better future. One day, a mysterious stranger arrives in the village and offers to buy their house, Lal Haveli. He promises to restore it to its former glory and make it a grand place. The sisters reluctantly agree and move into a new home. The sisters soon find out that the stranger is their long lost father. He reveals that he had been living a life of luxury as a wealthy businessman and had come to take them back with him. The sisters are overjoyed and accept his offer. However, their happiness is short-lived as the villagers become suspicious of their newfound wealth and the sisters must struggle to protect their newfound family. In the end, the sisters overcome all obstacles and are reunited with their father, finally able to live happily ever after.
