Story

Once Upon a Time in Bihar is a 2015 Indian drama film co-written and directed by Nitin Chandra. The film is set in the backdrop of political unrest in the state of Bihar, India during the early 2000s. It follows three young friends, Pappu, Raja and Vicky, who struggle to make ends meet and find work in their village. When they witness a public beating of a local politician, they become involved in a political party's mission to free the people of the village from the clutches of the corrupt ruling class. In doing so, they put their lives at risk and must face numerous obstacles, including police violence, social ostracism and even their own families' disapproval. In the end, the trio's courage leads to an unexpected victory and the village is liberated. The film serves as a reminder that the power of the people is far greater than any form of injustice.
