Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is a biographical film based on the life of Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The film follows Ambedkar's life from his birth in 1891 in a small village in Maharashtra to his death in 1956. It highlights his struggles against poverty, untouchability and caste discrimination and his efforts at social reform through education and legal activism. The film highlights Ambedkar's educational achievements, including being the first Dalit to obtain a college degree in India, and later becoming the first Indian to earn a doctorate in economics from Columbia University.
