Azhar 2016

Azhar is a 2016 Bollywood biopic film based on the life of former Indian international cricketer and captain Mohammad Azharuddin. The film follows his career as a professional cricketer, his legal battle after he was accused of match-fixing, his marriage to actress Sangeeta Bijlani, and other events in his life. The story follows Azhar (Emraan Hashmi) as he rises to fame as a cricket player and eventually becomes the captain of the Indian national cricket team. He marries famous actress Sangeeta Bijlani (Prachi Desai) and together they enjoy a successful public life until allegations of match-fixing arise and threaten to ruin his reputation. Azhar must fight a legal battle to prove his innocence. Throughout the story, his close friends and family members support him in his time of need and help him through his struggles. In the end, Azhar is vindicated when the court overturns his ban and he is able to return to the game.
