Aaghat 1985

Aghaat is a 1984 Indian drama film directed by Kumar Shahani. It tells the story of a rural family whose patriarch, Narayan, struggles to keep his family together and protect them from the dangers of modern society. After suffering a drought, Narayan's son, Mahender, decides to move to the city in search of a better life. Once there, he is exposed to the harsh realities of urban life: crime, poverty, and human exploitation. Meanwhile, back home, Narayan's wife, Shanta, tries to keep the family together and protect her daughter-in-law, Radha, who is pregnant with Mahender's child. However, the harsh conditions of rural life soon become too much for Narayan and Shanta to bear, and they leave for the city to join their son. In the end, the family discovers that even in the city, their traditional values are still important and can be used to survive the challenges of modern life.
