Yasmin is a 1955 British romance drama film set in India during the British Raj. The story centers around Yasmin (Dorothy Alison), a young woman who has been living with her aunt since her parents died. She falls in love with an English soldier, Captain Derek (Peter Finch), and the two become engaged. However, their relationship is put to the test when Derek is sent to the front lines and Yasmin must make a difficult decision between loyalty to her family and her own personal happiness. In the end, she chooses to follow her heart and returns to England with Derek, where they marry and start a new life together. Despite the difficulties and trials they face, the couple's love for one another is strong enough to carry them through.
