Aamir Khan's film Laal Singh Chaddha was the target of a boycott campaign by Hindu nationalists on Twitter. The boycott was in reaction to Khan's remarks about "growing intolerance" in India, his 2014 film PK that offended Hindu nationalists, and his meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Khan said he was "heartbroken" by the boycott and requested people to watch his film.

Digital Rights and OTT

Digital distribution rights were bought by Netflix for ₹50 crore after having initially offered ₹150 crore and then negotiated down to ₹90 crore, before finally acquiring Laal Singh Chadda for ₹50 crore.
