Story

Qila is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Umesh Mehra and starring Dharmendra, Raj Babbar, Sumeet Saigal, and Manisha Koirala. The film tells the story of Kanwarlal, a poor farmer who lives in a village with his family. When his father dies, he is left to take care of the family. His brother, Gopal, returns home from Bombay with a daughter, Chandni, and his wife, Champa. Gopal plans to marry her off to a rich man, but Kanwarlal disapproves. Eventually, Kanwarlal decides to marry her himself, despite his poverty. He sacrifices all his dreams for the sake of his family and the village. After Kanwarlal's marriage to Champa, the village becomes prosperous as he brings in new technology and irrigation systems. In the end, everyone is happy and contented. Despite his poverty, Kanwarlal is able to rise above it and bring happiness and prosperity to his village.
