Story

Piya Ka Ghar is a 1972 Indian Bollywood film directed by Basu Chatterjee. It follows the story of a young woman named Radha, played by Jaya Bhaduri, who is married to a man from a different social class than her own. Despite their differences, they fall deeply in love and share an idyllic life until their blissful union is disrupted by her husband’s untimely death. Left alone with her two children, Radha is forced to fend for herself and face the harsh realities of life. She eventually finds solace in the form of employment at a local factory and with the help of her supportive family, she is able to pull through and make ends meet. Despite facing numerous hardships, Radha perseveres and is ultimately able to provide a better life for her children and create a happy home for them. The film highlights the struggles of a single mother living in a patriarchal society and her resilience in overcoming them.
