Jailor 1958

Jailor is the story of a jailer, Jagannath, who works in a small prison. Jagannath is kind and honest, but stern when he needs to be. He has two sons, Shankar and Bhola. Shankar is an upright young man who follows his father's footsteps as a jailer. Bhola is an irresponsible rascal who leads a life of crime and eventually ends up in jail. In the prison, Bhola comes across a freedom fighter, Gangaram, and his friend, Amar, who are imprisoned for their anti-government activities. Bhola sympathizes with their cause and starts helping them escape from jail. Jagannath finds out about this and orders Shankar to arrest Bhola. However, Bhola escapes and goes on the run. Eventually, Shankar and Jagannath catch up with him and he is arrested. In the end, Jagannath learns that sometimes tough love is necessary and allows Bhola to start a new life.
