Story

The Tashkent Files is a 2019 Indian political thriller film, directed by Vivek Agnihotri and starring an ensemble cast. The story follows a journalist who starts an investigation to uncover the truth behind the 1965 death of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in Tashkent. After seven decades, the journalist finds out that the truth was buried deep within the pages of history. He joins forces with an investigative journalist, a lawyer, a social activist, and a doctor to uncover the real reason behind Shastri's mysterious death. As they unearth evidence, they find themselves up against powerful forces from within the government. In the end, they are able to reveal the truth, but not without facing great danger. Through their determination and perseverance, they succeed in uncovering the truth about the death of India’s second Prime Minister.
