Story

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a 2020 Indian biographical drama film directed and written by R. Madhavan, based on the life of scientist and aerospace engineer S. Nambi Narayanan. It tells the story of his life, from being a brilliant scientist to becoming an accused in an espionage case and his fight for justice. The film follows Narayanan's rise in the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) where he is appointed as the head of the liquid propulsion division, after dealing with numerous challenges and successfully launching India’s first satellite, Aryabhata. His successes lead to him becoming a target of ISRO espionage case, in which he is falsely accused of selling confidential rocket technology to Pakistan. Despite being cleared of all charges in the court of law, the stigma surrounding the case leads to him being sidelined from ISRO.
