When Rai discovers that a notorious criminal, Gabbar Singh, is extorting money from him and his neighbors, he decides to take matters into his own hands and protect his people. He disguises himself as Mr. India, a mysterious hero who fights crime and corruption. He also helps Indu find true love with a police officer, Inspector Ratan.
