Story

Maatr is a 2017 Indian revenge drama film, starring Raveena Tandon as the protagonist. The story follows Vidya, a home-maker turned vigilante who embarks on a journey of vengeance after her 14-year-old daughter Tia is brutally gang-raped and murdered. She traces the rapists to a powerful and influential person, and decides to take justice into her own hands. With incredible will and strength of character, she faces societal pressure, male chauvinism and the legal system to bring her daughter's rapists to justice. Despite all odds, she finds a way to avenge her daughter and reclaim justice for her in her own unique way. Maatr is a powerful story about a mother's determination to fight for justice and restore her daughter's dignity.
