Karthik Calling Karthik is a 2010 Indian psychological thriller film directed by Vijay Lalwani and starring Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The story follows Karthik Narayan, an introverted, socially awkward office worker who suffers from low self-esteem. One day, he begins receiving mysterious calls from a stranger claiming to be him. The caller advises Karthik to take risks and make changes in his life. With these mysterious calls inspiring him to be more confident, Karthik starts to make changes in his life, including meeting Shonali Mukherjee, a woman he has admired from afar. However, as Karthik's life improves, the phone calls become increasingly sinister, leading him to question the identity of the mysterious caller and the truth about himself. In the end, Karthik discovers that the calls were coming from his own subconscious and that he was the one making them all along. He learns to accept himself and move on with his life.
