Ittefaq 2001

Ittefaq is a 2001 Indian crime thriller film directed by Yash Chopra. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in lead roles. The story revolves around a couple, Suhaan and Maya, who are accused of murdering a prominent doctor. Both plead not guilty, but their testimonies differ greatly from one another. Police Inspector Vikram gets involved in the investigation and is determined to uncover the truth about what happened. He finds out that Suhaan was having an extramarital affair with the doctor's wife and eventually discovers that Suhaan's motive for murder was money. He also finds out that Maya was actually trying to protect Suhaan and had lied to police in order to help him. In the end, Vikram concludes that both Suhaan and Maya are innocent and it was actually the doctor's wife who committed the murder.
