Dastak is a 1996 Indian drama film directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starring Sushmita Sen, Mukul Dev and Sharad S. Kapoor. The story follows Nirmala (Sen), an independent woman living a content life in the city of Mumbai with her husband and son. One day she gets a letter from someone claiming to be her long-lost brother, Raju. She decides to go and meet him, only to find out that he has been accused of murder. The story then takes a dramatic turn as Nirmala sets out to uncover the truth behind Raju's case and prove his innocence. Through her journey, she discovers the harsh realities of life and learns to appreciate her own strength and courage. Eventually, Nirmala succeeds in freeing Raju from the clutches of injustice and proves that true justice can still prevail.
