Story

Chocolate tells the story of Zen, a Thai-Chinese girl with autistic savant syndrome, and her relationships with her mother, a street fighter, and an older Japanese man. Zen's mother has to fight in order to support her daughter and herself, while the older man helps Zen learn more about her extraordinary gifts. Zen is forced to overcome challenges in her life as she discovers her potential. She eventually finds the courage to open up and connect with the people around her, allowing them to see her true beauty. In the end, Zen discovers a newfound inner strength that helps her to blossom into a confident young woman. The film highlights the importance of love and acceptance in the face of adversity.
