The film follows Chandu (Murlikant's nickname), a spirited young man from Maharashtra with a passion for wrestling. His dreams of athletic glory take him to the army, where he hones his skills in boxing. However, tragedy strikes when Chandu is severely injured during the 1965 Indo-Pak war and may be permanently disabled.

Undeterred by this setback, Chandu refuses to give up. He embarks on a grueling rehabilitation journey, eventually discovering a new passion – swimming. With unwavering determination and the support of his coach, Tiger Ali, Chandu trains relentlessly, pushing his physical limits.

The movie chronicles Chandu's struggles and triumphs as he navigates the world of competitive swimming for athletes with disabilities. He faces prejudice and self-doubt, but his unwavering spirit and love for the sport fuel his journey.

The film's journey began in July 2022 with the initial announcement by Kabir Khan. The project officially kicked off in July 2023 with a motion poster reveal and confirmation of Khan's direction and Aaryan's lead role. Aaryan's dedication to the character went above and beyond – he shed a significant amount of body fat, transforming his physique for the role.

Filming spanned eight months, starting in July 2023 with a traditional puja ceremony in London, where the first shooting schedule unfolded. The production then moved to Kashmir in September before wrapping up in January 2024. Interestingly, the crew also filmed in Wai village, Maharashtra, and even tackled a challenging 8-minute single-shot war scene at a high altitude in Jammu.

Building anticipation for the release, the trailer premiered in May 2024 at Aaryan's hometown stadium. Promotions included appearances on dance shows and a special screening for Indian Army officers where Petkar himself was honored. The grand opening of advance ticket bookings was even announced at the iconic Burj Khalifa.
