Story

Zalzala is a 1988 Pakistani disaster drama. It tells the story of how a small town in Pakistan is torn apart by an earthquake. The town's inhabitants are forced to flee and seek safety elsewhere as their homes are destroyed. Meanwhile, an engineer, played by Mohsin Khan, is sent to investigate the cause of the quake and to help with the relief efforts. As he works to save lives, he discovers that the earthquake was caused by a nearby mine and that the mine was owned by a powerful businessman. Despite his warnings, the businessman refuses to shut down the mine, leading to another, more powerful earthquake. In the end, the engineer must sacrifice himself to stop the earthquake and save the town. The movie highlights the courage of one man and the power of nature.
