Story

Viruddh... Family Comes First is a 2005 Bollywood drama film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The story follows the life of a wealthy family, headed by Ashok Saraf and his wife, Sharmila Tagore, their son, John Abraham, and daughter-in-law, Sushmita Sen. After John meets and falls in love with Preity Zinta, he decides to break off his engagement to Sushmita and marry Preity instead. This creates a rift between John and his family, who feel betrayed by him. John's parents try to keep their family together, but eventually, they are forced to choose between their son and their daughter-in-law. In the end, John realizes the importance of family and apologizes to them. He gets back together with Sushmita and reconciles with his family. Viruddh... Family Comes First is a story about the value of family relationships and how ultimately, family comes first.
