Trishagni 1988

Trishagni is a family drama set in rural India. It tells the story of Prabhakar and his family, who live in a small village and struggle to make ends meet. Prabhakar's eldest daughter, Trishagni, has dreams of becoming a doctor, but her father refuses to let her pursue her ambitions. The family is faced with an impossible decision when Prabhakar's son falls ill and needs medical attention they can't afford. To save his son, Prabhakar is forced to sell Trishagni into marriage. Trishagni is determined to find a way out of her predicament and embarks on a journey of self-discovery that will challenge her family's values, beliefs and traditions. Along the way, she finds strength and courage in unexpected places and ultimately discovers what it means to be truly free.
