Ship of Theseus 2012

Ship of Theseus is a 2013 Indian drama film written and directed by Anand Gandhi. It follows the story of three separate characters, each going through their own struggles. The first is an Indian stock trader who begins to question her values and beliefs after donating her eyes to a blind photographer. The second is a monk suffering from kidney failure who discovers the truth behind the donated organ he received. Finally, a young man afflicted with a degenerative neurological condition finds solace in a mysterious street artist. Through these stories, the film explores the notions of identity, justice, beauty, meaning and death. At its core, Ship of Theseus looks at the idea that if all the parts of a ship are replaced, is it still the same ship? Ultimately, the film challenges us to think about the decisions we make in life and how they shape our personal identity.
