Shahid 2012

Shahid is a 2012 Indian biographical drama film about the life of lawyer and human rights activist, Shahid Azmi. It follows his struggles as an advocate for justice in India, and how he was assassinated in 2010 at the age of 32. The story focuses on the various injustices that Azmi faced in his short life, including poverty, lack of education and discrimination. He was eventually trained as a lawyer, and became involved in cases of Muslim youth who were falsely accused of terrorism. Despite threats to his own safety, he fought tirelessly for his clients' rights. In the end, it was this same commitment to justice that led to his assassination. Shahid's life serves as a reminder of the courage and determination of those who fight for justice, in spite of the great risks they take to do so.
