Shaheed Uddham Singh 1999

Shaheed Udham Singh is a biopic based on the life of freedom fighter Udham Singh. The movie tells the story of Udham's upbringing in a small village in Punjab, India. It follows his journey as he joins the Indian independence movement and his eventual assassination of Michael O'Dwyer in 1940. The movie shows how Udham was inspired by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and dedicated his life to avenging the death of hundreds of innocent Indians. He undergoes numerous hardships in order to bring justice for his people. After years of planning and struggle, Udham succeeds in killing O'Dwyer, a former British officer who had been responsible for ordering the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Udham is arrested but remains defiant until his execution. The movie ends with a tribute to Udham's courage and dedication to the cause of Indian independence.
