Story

Salaam Bombay! is a 1988 Indian drama film about the struggles of children living on the streets of Bombay. The story follows Krishna, a young boy who is forced to flee his rural village after his mother's death and winds up in the city. He soon finds himself hustling to make a living on the streets and ends up working for a drug dealer. In the process, he befriends several other street kids, including Chillum and Sola Saal. They struggle to survive in the harsh environment of the city, while also trying to find joy and pleasure in their lives. Through the course of the movie, we witness their struggles and triumphs as they navigate daily life and confront difficult situations. Ultimately, the movie serves as a reminder of the hardships faced by millions of children living in poverty in India.
