Story

Raksha is a 1982 Indian drama film directed by S.K. Kapoor. The story focuses on the relationship between an elderly woman, Malti (Nirupa Roy), and her grandson, Raju (Mithun Chakraborty). Malti is a widow who lives with her brother-in-law and his family. Despite being very poor, she does her best to provide for Raju and protect him from the cruelties of life. Raju is a bright student who dreams of becoming a doctor. However, his dreams are crushed when he discovers that his family cannot afford the tuition fees. Desperate to help him, Malti sacrifices her own security and works as a maid in order to pay for his education. In the end, Raju successfully passes his exams and fulfills his dream of becoming a doctor, bringing joy and hope to his family.
