Prem Patra 1962

Prem Patra is a 1962 Bollywood romantic drama movie directed by Bimal Roy. It stars Balraj Sahni, Sadhana and Nirupa Roy. The story revolves around Prem (Balraj Sahni) and his wife Uma (Sadhana). Uma is a teacher in an orphanage and Prem is a struggling writer. When Uma finds out that Prem has been writing a letter to a publisher every month for the last eight years without any success, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She sends a letter to the publisher requesting him to publish Prem's works. The publisher agrees and invites them to Mumbai. When they reach Mumbai, Uma is shocked to find out that the publisher wants to make her the heroine of Prem's novel. Uma is unwilling to accept the offer but Prem convinces her to do so. Uma reluctantly agrees and soon becomes the heroine of Prem's novel. The film ends with Prem and Uma happily married and living in Mumbai. The movie portrays a beautiful love story, where the couple face tough times but ultimately succeed in their relationship. It also shows how the power of love can overcome all obstacles.
