Story

Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is a Bollywood romantic comedy movie starring Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz. The story follows Vishwas Rao (Shahid Kapoor), an aspiring actor who dreams of making it big in Bollywood, but fate has other plans for him as his mother (Padmini Kolhapure) forces him to take up the job of a police officer. Despite his efforts, Vishwas keeps failing and embarrassing himself. Meanwhile, he meets Shruti Ghalsi (Ileana D'Cruz) and both fall in love. In a twist of events, Vishwas finds out that his father was an undercover cop and his mission was to bring down Raj Mathur (Saurabh Shukla), a dreaded criminal. He realizes that this is his chance to prove his worth to his family and to further his dream of becoming an actor. He decides to take on the mission and brings the criminals to justice. In the end, Vishwas is successful in achieving his goals and reunites with his true love.
