Story

Pardes is a 1997 Indian romantic drama film, starring Shahrukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhry in the lead roles. It tells the story of Kishorilal, a middle aged Indian man living in the United States, who visits his ancestral home in India to find a suitable bride for his son Rajiv. While there, he meets Ganga, an innocent village belle. Despite their age difference, the two begin to fall in love. However, due to societal pressures and norms, they are forced to part ways. In the end, Rajiv is able to reconcile with Ganga and they both get married.
