Parched 2015

_(2015_film) Parched is a 2015 Indian drama film about the struggles of three women in rural Rajasthan, India. The story follows the lives of Rani, Lajjo and Bijli who are struggling with poverty, marital problems, and the oppressive traditions of their society. Rani is a widow who is forced to marry her son off at an early age to protect him from being taken away by his uncle. Lajjo is in an unhappy marriage with her abusive husband, and Bijli is a dancer and a sex worker struggling to make ends meet. Together, they confront their difficulties and come together to fight against the patriarchy of their community, finding strength in each other and in themselves. Ultimately, they all find solace in their friendship and courage to break free from the chains that bind them.
