Story

Paappi Devataa is a 1975 Bollywood movie directed by P. Madhavan. It stars Kamal Haasan, Rajshree and Om Shivpuri in the lead roles. The story revolves around an unemployed but honest man named Paappi (Kamal Haasan) who is determined to make it big. He meets a wealthy family and befriends the daughter of the family, Gayatri (Rajshree). After some time, Paappi realizes that he has fallen in love with Gayatri and decides to take up a job to prove his worth to her father. Meanwhile, Gayatri's uncle (Om Shivpuri) wants her to marry his son. In order to stop this, Paappi begins to perform miracles which leads him into trouble. Ultimately, Paappi succeeds in proving his worth and is allowed to marry Gayatri. The movie celebrates the power of honesty and hard work over wealth and greed.
