Nishan 1965

Nishan is a 1965 Indian drama film directed by Sadashiv J. Row Kavi and starring Shashi Kapoor and Nanda. The story follows a village girl, Usha (Nanda), who falls in love with an educated outsider, Shankar (Shashi Kapoor). Shankar is taken in by Usha's family but finds that his presence causes tension between the two families. He tries to win over the villagers and prove himself worthy of Usha's affections. Eventually, the two are able to overcome their differences and marry, but tragedy strikes when Shankar is killed in an accident shortly after the wedding. Despite this, Usha, with her unwavering loyalty and devotion, manages to keep the memory of Shankar alive for the rest of her life. Nishan is a touching tale of love, loyalty, and hope in the face of loss.
