Nayak 2001

Nayak is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language drama film starring Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji and Amrish Puri. The story follows the life of a successful yet disgruntled television journalist, Shivajirao Gaekwad (Anil Kapoor), who takes a break from his work and meets with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Balraj Chauhan (Amrish Puri). During the course of their meeting, Shivajirao challenges Balraj to switch places with him for one day, allowing Balraj to experience the struggles of an average citizen. Balraj agrees, and the two spend the day in each other's shoes. By the end of the day, Shivajirao gains a newfound respect for Balraj, while Balraj has a newfound understanding of the everyday struggles of citizens. Both men learn valuable lessons about life, and come away from the exchange with a newfound appreciation for each other.
