Story

Namak is a 1996 Indian romantic drama film starring Sanjay Dutt and Mamta Kulkarni. It was directed by Talat Jani and produced by Boney Kapoor. The story revolves around a young man named Raja (Sanjay Dutt) who works as a driver for a wealthy family in Rajasthan. He falls in love with a girl from the same family, but their relationship is forbidden due to the class difference between them. To escape his fate, Raja joins the army and goes to the war-torn Kashmir. In Kashmir, he meets a beautiful girl, Chanda (Mamta Kulkarni), and they develop a strong bond. Unfortunately, Chanda is killed in a crossfire between the two sides of the conflict. Raja returns to his beloved’s family in Rajasthan, broken and disheartened. When he finds out that his beloved has been promised to another man, he decides to sacrifice his own happiness to give her the life she deserves.
