Story

Mrityudata is a 1997 Indian action drama film, starring Amitabh Bachchan and directed by Mehul Kumar. It tells the story of a man named Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) who is an honest cop. He is married to Sushma (Raakhee) and they have a son, Rohit. When Vijay is killed in an ambush by his corrupt colleagues, his spirit is granted a second chance at life. He returns as a reincarnation of Dharma Raja, a powerful king from centuries ago who had been killed by treachery. Vijay now must face off against his former enemies in order to protect his family and restore justice. He also has to contend with his own inner demons, which threaten to undermine his efforts. In the end, he succeeds and proves that justice and truth will always prevail. Along the way, he learns some valuable lessons about compassion and understanding, and how important it is to take responsibility for one's own actions.
