Mirza Ghalib is a biographical film about the life of the famous Urdu poet, Mirza Ghalib. The movie follows Ghalib's life from his childhood to his death in 1869. It covers his struggles with poverty and neglect as well as his love affairs and successes. As an adult, Ghalib is eventually appointed as court poet by the Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. During his time as a court poet, Ghalib's works are greatly appreciated and he earns a great amount of respect. However, his success is also accompanied by financial hardship due to the decline of the Mughal Empire. In the end, Ghalib finds solace in writing and dies at the age of 72. The movie tells the story of the legendary poet whose courage and resilience despite difficult circumstances make him an inspirational figure.
