Love Aaj Kal (2009) is a romantic drama about two couples from different eras. The first couple, Jai (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera (Deepika Padukone), are modern-day young professionals living in London. They struggle to balance their relationship with the demands of their careers. The second couple, Veer (Rishi Kapoor) and Harleen (Giselli Monteiro), are a young couple living in Delhi in the 1980s. They experience a traditional Indian romance, filled with cultural traditions and expectations. As the two couples’ stories unfold, we learn that love is timeless and that it can take many forms. In the end, each couple finds their own way of making their relationship work in their particular era. Through its exploration of love across generations, Love Aaj Kal celebrates the timeless nature of true love.
