Story

LOC: Kargil is a 2003 Indian war drama film based on the 1999 Kargil War fought between India and Pakistan. It depicts the story of Indian soldiers who were caught in the crossfire of the conflict. The movie follows the lives of five major characters: Lt. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Major Deepak Rampal, Capt. Vikram Batra, Capt. Anuj Nayyar, and Lt. Saurabh Kalia. The movie begins with Lt. Manoj Kumar Pandey leading an attack on Tiger Hill. He succeeds, but is killed in action. Major Deepak Rampal is then assigned to the same mission, but loses his life in a battle with Pakistani forces. Capt. Vikram Batra leads the Indian forces in the recapture of Peak 5140, and is posthumously given the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery. Capt. Anuj Nayyar leads a daring rescue mission, but is also killed in the line of duty. Finally, Lt. Saurabh Kalia is captured by Pakistani forces and tortured to death. The movie follows these five brave men and their families as they face the extreme sacrifices of war...
