Story

Lekin (English: But) is a 1990 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Gulzar. It stars Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna and Amjad Khan in lead roles. The movie tells the story of Dhankor Baa (Dimple Kapadia), an elderly woman from Rajasthan who travels to Mumbai to fulfill her dream of singing at the famous Kala Ghoda festival. On the way, she meets a mysterious stranger, Rahim Chacha (Amjad Khan), who helps her on her quest. In Mumbai, she finds shelter in the home of Anand (Vinod Khanna), a rich businessman who is struggling with his own problems. Through their conversations, Anand slowly realises that Dhankor Baa is a woman of great wisdom and courage, and he starts to realise the importance of living life with passion and joy.
