Story

Lalkar is a 1972 Bollywood drama film directed by Ram Maheshwari. The story follows two men who become good friends despite being from different social classes. Raju, a poor boy from the village, and Ravi, a rich city boy, become close after Raju saves Ravi's life when he falls off his horse. Raju goes to school with Ravi, where he faces many challenges due to his poverty. Despite this, his hard work and intelligence help him excel. After completing their studies, Raju and Ravi grow further apart as Ravi goes on to pursue a career in the Indian army while Raju remains in the village. When India and Pakistan face conflict, Ravi fights for his country while Raju is forced to join the Pakistani army. Both men are faced with the dilemma of either fighting against their own country or against their friend. In the end, both of them choose friendship and remain loyal to each other amidst the war.
