Laawaris is a 1981 Bollywood film about the struggles of an orphan, Heera. Heera was abandoned as a baby and adopted by a couple who could not bear children of their own. As he grows up, Heera is considered an outcast in his village due to his unknown parentage, despite the love and affection he receives from his adopted family. Heera falls in love with Mina, the daughter of a wealthy landlord, but her father disapproves of the match and she is married off to another man. Heera is determined to find out who his biological parents are and sets off on a quest to discover the truth. In the end, he discovers that his biological father is none other than the landlord who had forbidden him from marrying his daughter. Despite this, Heera is welcomed into the family and marries Mina, starting a new life of respect and dignity.
