Story

Set in the 1930s, Kisna is the story of a young Hindu man who is forced to choose between his love for a British-born Indian girl and his loyalty to his country during the time of India's struggle for independence. Kisna (Vivek Oberoi) is a young man who lives with his father, an Indian freedom fighter, in a small village near Mathura. The family faces poverty and other struggles but Kisna is determined to make something of his life. When Katherine (Antonia Bernath), a British-born Indian girl from a wealthy family visits the village, Kisna falls in love with her. But when Katherine's family discovers their relationship, they are determined to break them apart, as they have already promised her to another man. Kisna is soon arrested by the British and imprisoned under false charges. With the help of his father and a local leader, Kisna escapes from prison and decides to take Katherine back to her home in England.
