Khazanchi 1941

Khazanchi is a 1941 Indian film about a village money-lender, his daughter and her lover. The money-lender's daughter, Champa, is in love with a young man named Ramu. But the money-lender is against the union due to their different social classes. When Champa's father refuses to give his blessing, the two lovers elope. They travel to the city and get married, despite the objections of Champa's father. Meanwhile, the money-lender tries to track down the couple and bring them back home. After some time, the two are eventually reunited with the money-lender and the family is reconciled. All ends happily when Champa and Ramu are allowed to stay together. Khazanchi is a story of forbidden love, class differences, and ultimately reconciliation. It follows the journey of Champa and Ramu, who must overcome the obstacles posed by their respective classes in order to be together. Despite her father's disapproval, Champa decides to follow her heart and elopes with Ramu. Through a series of misadventures, the couple eventually find themselves back home, where the money-lender eventually reconciles with the couple and allows them to stay together
