Story

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham follows the story of a wealthy family, the Raichands, who are based in Delhi. The head of the family, Yash Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan), is a successful business tycoon and his wife Nandini (Jaya Bachchan) is a loving mother to their two sons, Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Rohan (Hrithik Roshan). After a misunderstanding between the siblings, Rahul is sent away to London by his father. Years later, Rahul returns to India to reunite with his family, but faces opposition from Yash, as he has married a girl, Anjali Sharma (Kajol), belonging to a lower economic class. Yash eventually comes to accept the marriage and Rahul and Anjali's love, and the family unites in the end.
