Jigri Dost is a 1983 Indian drama film directed by Ramesh Sharma. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Shabana Azmi, and Om Shivpuri in the lead roles. The film tells the story of Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty) and his friend Gopinath (Om Shivpuri). Shankar is a simple and honest man living in a village and Gopinath is a wealthy businessman from the city. When Gopinath learns of the struggles of Shankar's family, he decides to help them out financially. Gopinath also sets up a small factory in the village to create jobs for the people. However, Shankar and Gopinath's friendship is tested when Shankar stands up against corruption and injustice in the village. In the end, both men are victorious in their struggle and prove that true friendship can overcome any obstacle.
