Jhoothi 1985

Jhoothi is a 1985 Indian family drama film directed by Ramesh Talwar and starring Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha, Om Puri and Raj Babbar. The story follows the life of two sisters, Sulakshana (Rekha) and Bhagwanti (Kulbhushan Kharbanda). Sulakshana is an honest and hardworking woman who has to care for her husband, children and ailing father, while Bhagwanti is an irresponsible, selfish woman who is constantly trying to get money from her sister. When Bhagwanti finds out that she can earn money by selling Sulakshana's jewelry, she starts telling lies to deceive people into buying the jewelry. Sulakshana soon discovers this and confronts her sister, but Bhagwanti refuses to admit her wrong-doings until it is too late. In the end, Sulakshana learns the true value of honesty and responsibility, while Bhagwanti is reminded about the consequences of her bad decisions.
