Jaago 1985

Jaago is a 1985 Indian drama film directed by K. Bhagyaraj and starring Rajesh Khanna, Poonam Dhillon and Madan Puri. It tells the story of a retired army officer, Major Mukherjee (Rajesh Khanna), who decides to move to the small village of Cheddi with his daughter, Sunita (Poonam Dhillon). Though he is warmly welcomed by the villagers, it soon becomes apparent that he has been sent there for a reason - to help the villagers fight against the injustice they suffer at the hands of the local landlord. With the help of the brave village elder, Gopi (Madan Puri), Major Mukherjee rallies the villagers against the oppressive landlord, leading to a dramatic showdown between the two sides. In the end, justice is served and the villagers are freed from their oppressor. Jaago is a story of courage and determination in the face of adversity, showing how one man, with the help of an entire community, can make a difference.
